To submit a request for access to the contents of the Syrian Oral History Archive, you have to go to the request access page, where you will fill out the application form. Hereafter, you shall wait for a response via the email that you registered in the form.
We will answer you within one working week.
What happens after submitting a user request?
Upon approval of the request, you will receive an email with the username and a link to set a new password, and this is the first step after creating a new user.
After you click on the link, the platform asks you to set a new password.
Then it asks you to log in to the platform, thereafter the records you requested will appear when you log in to your new user account.
How can I listen to the recorded testimonies?
You can listen directly by pressing the play button of the record you want to listen to, or by pressing the play button to see the details of the testimony.
When you press the play button, the details of the testimony appear, and you can play parts of the record, as each part has a title that expresses the clip.
You can note that there are two types of records:
- The archive available to the user and this complete recording.
- Trailers from the archive, which are a small part from each testimony.
How do I search for testimonies?
You can filter records by age, gender, or topics.
You can also search for a specific testimony by entering the reference code.
What is the user account duration, if the period is not specified in my user request?
The validity period of each ‘user’ is automatically set at two weeks, unless a different period is chosen when registering
How can I extend the period of my user account?
The validity period can be extended by communicating with the Platform through the Contact Us page or via Email: archive@dawlaty.org.
How many testimonies am I entitled to listen to?
The number of testimonies that you will be granted access to is limited, and it will be determined upon signing up. I.e., the number of testimonies shared with you will depend on the purpose of using the archive. If you want to access additional recordings, you may submit a new request upon completion of your current use.
